I completed the Woods of Segesse in NaNoWriMo 2009 and decided to publish it because i really quite liked how it turned out. It is my first book as a young author and it will definately not be my last, i have already started on three others and plan on finishing them over the summer. I also plan on participating in NaNoWriMo 2010. It was such fun last year that i just can't wait till November comes around this year. :)
I consider The Woods of Segesse to be a fantasy type book but it isn't super fantasy. There are dragons, and fairies, and talking animals and all, but it's not too out there. It's a book that any age could read. :) There is no language or bad content. It is a very G rated book.
I hope you enjoy reading it even half as much as i enjoyed writing it!! :)
Things get complicated real fast for Emeelia, who is only 15. Her family is crying, her sister is missing, and on top of that her mom isn’t even trying to find her! There isn’t much hope in the Shield family, so when Emeelia is left at home alone and a stranger knocks on the door she’s off into the forest because she doesn’t know what to do. When she runs she has absolutely no idea how crazy that forest is about to make her life. It doesn’t take her long to get into that massive forest called Segesse, and things don’t seem so bad at first. But things don’t stay good for long. She starts seeing strange creatures. Things she didn’t know existed. Was being so alone getting to her head? Why is she talking to a bird? And what in the world is a Gidjit?
